EVENT: 175th Anniversary Celebration on September 3, 2016

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church invites the public to celebrate with us on Saturday, September 3rd from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. as we honor our 175th year as a congregation in Beloit. There will be tours of our Sanctuary and Parish Hall led by parish members, exhibits of memorabilia loaned by parish members and friends, crafts for sale, a silent auction featuring items donated by downtown Beloit businesses and plenty of games for the children. At noon we will celebrate Morning Prayer in the style of the 1840’s, including music from the era. It will be a joyous experience and for many, a ‘Homecoming.’
The church, the oldest house of worship in Beloit, was built of limestone quarried at Big Hill Park, with roof beams cut from trees at Big Hill. We are delighted to be the home to numerous liturgical works of Vern Shaffer’s and will point out those items during the tours. Come and join us in celebrating our history which is intertwined with that of our city.
