Multi-species fishing derby held on June 4th at the American Legion Post 166, 201 S. Water St E. Fort Atkinson from 5am to 4pm. The derby corresponds with Wisconsin’s Free Fishing Weekend so adults are not required to have a fishing license. Anglers will have five fish categories to choose from for adults and six categories to choose from for kids(under 16). Each participant may register in only one fish class: one fish of any species. Prizes are awarded for the heaviest fish. Anglers should pre-register by May 23rd at the Legion or TPF Outdoors located at 102 Sherman Ave. W. in Fort Atkinson. Entry fees for adults are $15 and FREE for kids under 16. The first 50 anglers to pre-register will receive a free pack of Fin-Tech jigs. Water Boundaries: Rock River (Jefferson Dam to Indianford Dam including Lake Koshkonong). Mouth of Bark River to Burnt Village
The event starts with all anglers signing in at the Legion prior to fishing. Breakfast will be offered from the Legion Dugout starting at 5am for a small fee. Sign-in ends at 9am. All fish must be weighed-in by 1pm. The free BBQ luncheon begins after weigh-ins. Our guest speaker Adam Walton begins his seminar around 2pm and we start announcing derby winners when he finishes. Door prizes, raffle and silent auction winners will be announced last. The public is invited to attend the event and can take part in the luncheon for a small fee.
