Better Brodhead is excited to bring the Rise Together team to our 3rd annual Community Supper event. The Community Supper is an opportunity to have a FREE meal with our friends, neighbors, and community leaders and to be part of a community discussion on local issues. This year’s meal is a free Taco Bar. We anticipate this year’s event to be well attended, so come early! This year’s Community Supper is on February 17th from 5:30-7:30pm at the Brodhead High School Auditeria and will feature the nationally renowned Rise Together team.
Rise Together is an educational presentation that provides inspirational personal stories, music, and testimonials. The presentation brings education and awareness on community issues including substance abuse, addiction, self-harm, bullying, and suicide tendencies. The Rise Together program isn’t just for people with addictions and their families. This program is meant for all community members, because Together, We Can Make A Difference.
Beginning in January 2016, Rise Together has joined forced with the Young People in Recovery (YPR) team, merging their secondary school and community speaking programs, increasing the capacity of both organizations to more efficiently serve the needs of youth and create recovery-ready communities. Since its inception, Rise Together has impacted over 100,00 students at 150 schools across the Midwest and together with YPR, aims to reach over 250,000 students at 350 schools by the end of 2017.
