HOMETOWN: Beloit, Wisconsin
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED IN RADIO?
I graduated from Trans American School of Broadcasting in 1987 from Wausau, WI. My first radio job was doing weekends at WGEZ in Beloit. From there I landed the overnight/evening spot on WJVL from 1988-1991. I then moved to WMJB in Janesville and started out as Production Director in 1991 and left as Operations Manager in 1995. Took a 15 year break from radio and came back to WJVL in 2010.
I have a lot of hobbies!! I enjoy listening to music, collecting sports memorabilia, bird watching, hunting, ice fishing and catching walleyes in the spring on the Rock, Mississippi, Wisconsin, Wolf, and Fox rivers.
FAVORITE COUNTRY ARTISTS:
I really don’t know where to start. I like everything from Waylon Jennings to Eric Church. Just don’t ever forget get where country music came from. God bless Roy Acuff and the Grand Ole Opry!
There are two quotes I like…my Dad once told me failure is not an option. The other one, even though I’m a diehard Brewers fan. It came from Hall of Famer Ernie Banks of the Chicago Cubs…”It’s a great day for a ball game; let’s play two!”
