Great Season
It was a great season for the Packers. Sure it's depressing that we lost yesterday, but I'm quickly reminded of a game against the Eagles a couple of years ago that ended with 4th and 20 or whatever that was. Now THAT was depressing. It sure was nice to get those extra playoff games this year and make a real run for the Big Game!
Yesterday's game, which I was lucky enough to be at had it's highs and it's lows. Obviously the outcome being one of the lows. But what a game! Back and forth, up and down, round and round and into OT! What excitement. But I'd much rather have had a game like the one before. But it wasn't meant to be.
Now let the Favre drama begin. I doubt very much that this is his last season. Maybe I'll be wrong, just like my prediction of the game against the Giants. But I don't think so. This Packers team is very young, and has a lot of talent. I would think Brett would want to give it at least one more shot.
Thank you to those of you who were on our bus trip to Green Bay yesterday and I hope that you enjoyed your Game Day experience with us! Thanks as well to our bus driver Craig from Van Galder Tour and Travel. I'm sure WJVL will be bringing you more trips this coming Fall when the Packers make a run all over again.

Except for the final score, it was a great day to be a Packers fan in Green Bay! The atmosphere was electric and the day felt way warmer than the actual temperature. I had a fantastic time on the WJVL bus trip - thanks to everyone who made it possible.

Ray -- yes, I agree. I got Deanna's book for Christmas. It was a great read...I found it hard to put it down and was disappointed when I got to the last page, hoping that there was more. :-)
JB - we looked for you guys as I assumed that the WJVL gang would be at the Stadium View. The lady playing gatekeeper wouldn't let us get past the rope that segregated the tailgate people from the rest of the crowd. So we missed being able to say "hey"!
But we had a great time in spite of the loss. It was a game that all championship games should be -- no clear winner until the very end.
If you would have told me in July that the Packers would be playing for a chance to be the NFC Superbowl team, I'd have told you that you were insane. What a ride this year has been!! Looking forward to September already!

Tammy! Sorry we missed you. Our "pre-game" tailgate took place at the Stadium View Bar.

We just happened to be in Neenah this weekend, so we drove up to Green Bay yesterday to watch the game at the Stadium View Bar (with about 3000 other people). WHAT an experience! You could almost call that place "Little Lambeau". We got a table and watched the game on one of the five big projection screens. It felt like we were actually at the game. When the Giants kicked the OT field goal, you could have heard a pin drop. No one said a word. A few of us cried...okay, a LOT of us cried. But the sun still came up this morning, and now we just have to look forward to the 2008 season with #4 under center. He's got to come back for one more season...he's just got to!
