Chick Flicks

Chick Flicks

By Justin Brown ( Contact )   February 18, 2008

I'm a guy who likes typical "guy movies." Simple plots with lots of action. I'll sit and watch any of the "Die Hard" or "Lethal Weapon" movies anytime they are on even though I've seen them 500 times each. As I continue to build my Clint Eastwood DVD collection, why in the world are these "Chick Flicks" I've watched recently so good? ...Image

Normally I wouldn't even think to rent these movies or order them with my Charter On Demand. Yet I stumbled across them recently, watched them and thought they were great!

Here's a list of some "chick flick" movies I've watched with in the last 3 months that I truly enjoyed.

"Rumor Has It"

"The Devil Wears Prada"

"In Her Shoes"

"The Pursuit of Happyness"

"The Holiday"

Hey...don't get me wrong. I can't wait for the action blockbusters to hit the big screen this summer! I wonder if the last "Indiana Jones" will ever get made? Any word on "The Mummy III"?

Can you think of any other movies you think I might like? What are some of your favorite movies you've seen recently?

I like Stepmom with Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon, but you might have to have been in that situation (a step-parent) to truly appreciate it. It is a good flick, though.

It's called "The American President" and yes it is good. It formed the basis for the "West Wing" TV series.

Sweet Home Alabama is my all time favorite "chick flick!" I watch it anytime it's on tv and I think I've about wrecked my dvd from playing it so much! The same goes with Where The Heart Is. It's a great movie! If you ever want to borrow them, let me know!

"50 First Dates" with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore is funny and very sweet.
"Serendipity" with John Cusack is about a guy looking for his lost love... so does that make it a guy-flick?
