Trace Now a Bigger Celebrity

Trace Now a Bigger Celebrity

By Justin Brown ( Contact )   March 27, 2008

Many people kiss butt and sell others out to get ahead in life. It's easy to do. But life's true winner is the man/woman who does it the old fashion way. They earn it! And they get ahead without stepping on others.

Trace Adkins is just that kind of person. And he showed us how to be a true winner on NBC's Celebrity Apprentice, even though he didn't quote, "win."

Why is it that when some people gain "power" such as a promotion or they come into more money, they change? Where does it say that a Manager, Boss, or Supervisor has to be rude, ruthless and certainly not a 'friend' to their employees? And that's just how Piers Morgan acted on Celebrity Apprentice. Granted, not all bosses, managers or 'team leaders' are this way.

A good friend once told me that "A" people will hire other A's knowing full well that person is going to keep them on their toes, but in a good way for the better of the company. Always going above and beyond and 'whatever it takes' to get the job done. And that A 'boss' wont care who came up with the idea, as long as it's best for everyone involved.

B's on the other hand, hire C's because they don't want to be shown up by other B's, or heaven forbid, an "A" person. I think that's a shame. Each one of us is only as good as the person next to us and are responsible for each other.

I honestly believe that Trace Adkins not winning Celebrity Apprentice was one of the best things that could have happened to him. And here's why.

He'll be on tour this summer a lot. And something inside me says, don't be surprised if the country music fan base and radio stations across our great country go out and raise a lot more money for his charity, than Piers Morgan could dream of. Why? Because people like someone as humble as Trace Adkins. They want to work for a guy like Trace Adkins. Trace is a type A person. He won't sell himself out just to get ahead. And he proved that on Celebrity Apprentice.

In my opinion, Trace Adkins is a much bigger celebrity now than he ever was before. He could have easily acted in a 'cut throat' manner all in the name of "business" on Celebrity Apprentice. But he didn't. He stayed true to himself. And that takes guts!

One of my favorite poems is called:

"The Man in the Glass" - Author Unknown

When you get what you want in your struggle for self

And the world makes you king for a day

Just go to the mirror and look at yourself

And see what that man has to say.

For it isn’t your father, or mother, or wife

Whose judgment upon you must pass

The fellow whose verdict counts most in your life

Is the one staring back from the glass.

He’s the fellow to please – never mind all the rest

For he’s with you, clear to the end

And you’ve passed your most difficult, dangerous test

If the man in the glass is your friend.

You may fool the whole world down the pathway of years

And get pats on the back as you pass

But your final reward will be heartache and tears

If you’ve cheated the man in the glass.

We were at the show at the Armory Thursday night, so I missed the Celebrity Apprentice, but I Ti-Vo'd it. When I heard on the radio Friday that Trace lost, I thought I would skip watching it. BUT, I truly did not like Piers and thought he should have been fired long ago, so maybe I will watch it just to see how rude and ruthless he was this time.

he's very humble, sincere and a great entertainer. I am very grateful to the Rock County Fair Board for bringing him here in 2005!! Before Honky Tonk Bandonkonk had even been released. What an amazing guy.

Wow I completely agree! Trace is what I would call a "real man". He is humble, ethical, and has a strong head on his shoulders. I have met very few men that offer the characteristics that Trace brings to the table. He is strong yet quiet, sensible yet a risk taker, all while keeping a consistent composure. Competing in the business world had no effect on his overall personality. Which is an admirable trait, men in the business world should look up to him and study his demeanor
Although I am only 24 I have met very few "A" type people in my life. If the world had more "A" type people and less money hungry people I believe this world would be a much happier place.
