I like Stepmom with Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon, but you might have to have been in that situation (a step-parent) to truly appreciate it. It is a good flick, though.

Ray -- yes, I agree. I got Deanna's book for Christmas. It was a great read...I found it hard to put it down and was disappointed when I got to the last page, hoping that there was more. :-)
JB - we looked for you guys as I assumed that the WJVL gang would be at the Stadium View. The lady playing gatekeeper wouldn't let us get past the rope that segregated the tailgate people from the rest of the crowd. So we missed being able to say "hey"!
But we had a great time in spite of the loss. It was a game that all championship games should be -- no clear winner until the very end.
If you would have told me in July that the Packers would be playing for a chance to be the NFC Superbowl team, I'd have told you that you were insane. What a ride this year has been!! Looking forward to September already!

We just happened to be in Neenah this weekend, so we drove up to Green Bay yesterday to watch the game at the Stadium View Bar (with about 3000 other people). WHAT an experience! You could almost call that place "Little Lambeau". We got a table and watched the game on one of the five big projection screens. It felt like we were actually at the game. When the Giants kicked the OT field goal, you could have heard a pin drop. No one said a word. A few of us cried...okay, a LOT of us cried. But the sun still came up this morning, and now we just have to look forward to the 2008 season with #4 under center. He's got to come back for one more season...he's just got to!

The article was well done indeed. Reading it brought tears to my eyes. When Ken first announced on Wednesday that in respect to JD Barber he'd be discontinuing the "Day in the Country" feature, I have to admit that I was disappointed that someone else wasn't going to step in and take it over...I thought JB did a fine job standing in for him before. The reason that I'm a country music fan today is because I grew up with parents who listened to country music. Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, Marty Robbins -- those were my parents' favorites. "A Day in the Country" always took me back to those days and the fond memories that went along with my "growing up days". But after I read the article, I totally understand why the "Day in the Country" feature needs to be retired. God Bless JD Barber. No one that takes over Saturday mornings will ever be able to fill his shoes.

A wonton is made with a thin ten centimeter square lye-water pastry wrapper made of wheat flour, water, salt, and lye, and filled with savory minced meat. The filling is typically made of:
Minced pork
Coarsely diced or whole shrimp
Finely minced ginger and onions
Sesame oil and soy sauce.
So yes, little Chinese dumplings! They're delicious! Our tradition is to get together in the afternoon on Christmas Eve and the ladies make like 100 of these wontons. Then we all go to Church and come back and fry up the wontons and relax in the hot tub with our favorite beverage. It doesn't get much better than that!

Christmas just isn't complete without wontons and brandy slushes.

We were at the show at the Armory Thursday night, so I missed the Celebrity Apprentice, but I Ti-Vo'd it. When I heard on the radio Friday that Trace lost, I thought I would skip watching it. BUT, I truly did not like Piers and thought he should have been fired long ago, so maybe I will watch it just to see how rude and ruthless he was this time.
