Stoughton Longbeards

Stoughton Longbeards

By Justin Brown ( Contact )   March 18, 2008

I'm counting down the days until Spring Turkey Hunting. April 16th - 20th. For the 3rd year in a row, I'll be trying to get my Thanksgiving dinner! For those keeping score at home, after two years the score is:

Justin - 0

Tom - 2

That's right! I've yet to harvest a turkey. To be honest, the weather has been a major factor both times I've gone. Thunderstorms one year and then a snowstorm opening day last year. You just never know how any kind of hunting will go. But it's like I say, "A bad day hunting, is better than not hunting at all."

I've also taken some ribbing from friends and co-workers about how I'd have a better chance of getting a turkey with my truck driving around the Janesville area, than in the woods in Dodgeville where I go hunting.

To get me in the mood for Spring Turkey hunting this year, I'm once again MC'ing the Stoughton Longbeards, National Wild Turkey Banquet Dinner. You're invited to attend. It's Friday March 21st at the Stoughton Conservation Club and should be a great time.

Gobble, gobble! Justin Brown
