Blaine Left Me Hanging

Blaine Left Me Hanging

By Justin Brown ( Contact )   September 25, 2008

So I got home from work last night and Mary has the TV on. She mentions that David Blaine is going to try another stunt. My wife is a big fan. She even ordered a DVD soon after David's last stunt holding his breath under the water, that David actually autographed. How cool is that?

So I'm sitting here watching ABC's dramatic presentation of "David Blaine and the Dive of Death" that just seemed to drag on and on, and on. Mary was kind enough to let me flip back and forth between this and FSN Wisconsin so I could check up on my Brewers. They won by the way and are now tied for the Wild Card. Yeah!

Back to Blaine.

I totally love the tricks and illusions that David does. It's absolutely mind boggling. And a little scary some times. How DOES he do it?

This latest trick, of hanging upside down for 3 days, o.k., a little weird, but interesting none the less. But what's this "Dive of Death" I kept asking Mary? Is that a pool of water below him? Will he simple fall to the stage? What's going to happen?

Oh...another commercial break as they drag this thing on and on and on some more. Mary even decides to go to bed. I set the DVR for her so she can watch in the morning. So what DID happen? Watch this video and see for yourself.

I stayed up and sacrificed watching the Brewers over this? Did the stunt not work? Was he suppose to just hang there? Did the harness not work properly? And if the announcer on ABC hadn't said that David just disappeared into the night New York sky, I'd have never known, since the camera really didn't show much. What the heck was up with that?

I feel like the one left hanging. How about you?
