Lake Austin

By Mike Austin ( Contact )   March 3, 2008

I almost hit the trifecta today. On the way in here to WJVL, I was on my usual route coming up 51. As I was going under the little railroad bridge by the "Marine Corp League", I hit the standing water that has accumilated there...just then...BAM!...I hit the pothole that has opened up. Then, recovering from wondering if I would need some dental work...a skunk wondered onto Hwy 51 just in front of me! I say I almost hit the trifecta because he wasn't coming fast enough to get in front of me but I worried that my car may have gotten a good "squirt"...it didn't...WHEW! Got any good pothole or standing water stories? By the way, I'd like to apologize to my neighbors for the huge pond that has grown in front of the Austin Family Compound. I'm actually thinkin of stocking it! I call it "Lake Austin".
