Christmas cards for injured soldiers

Christmas cards for injured soldiers

By Tim Beggs ( Contact )   December 17, 2007

I saw a story about Randy Travis encouraging fans to send Christmas cards to injured soldiers. Randy and his wife Elizabeth will be sending hundreds of personalized cards to recovering wounded service men and women at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, D.C. The singer says, quote, "Holiday cards and greetings are an ideal way to thank our brave service members and soldiers for all that they do for this country." Randy notes it only has to take a few minutes, and the cards can be sent through the Red Cross program. He adds, quote, "A little note can really go a long way and I know that our troops would appreciate the meaningful messages and well wishes." Anyone wanting to participate in the program can send cards to WE SUPPORT YOU DURING YOUR RECOVERY, c/o The American Red Cross, P.O.Box 419, Savage,MD. 20763-0419.

WJVL Promotions Director says:
A credible military support website confirms that this address is legitimate. There are many scams out there with similar appeals, so researching emails of this nature is a good idea. But Mr. Beggs has this one right. Here's the page from the military support website if you'd like to reference it.

I rec'd an email that stated this was a hoax & that the cards aren't really going to anyone. Can you do some research on this please? Thanks,

I've been doing this for the last couple of years. Hopefully the soldiers like the humor of my cards!
