NFL Playoff Picks

NFL Playoff Picks

By Tim Beggs ( Contact )   January 4, 2008

I look forward to a great weekend of football. No I didn't get enough with the college bowl games. I need more. There are many who prefer college games over the pros. I don't. Sure I enjoy watching and following the college action, but there's something about the post season in the National Football League that grabs my attention. As a Packer fan I can't wait for next weekend. As a NFL fan, this weekend features some great games. Here's my picks. I'll invite your input as well. Let's see how we do. Good Luck! Saturday at 3:30pm Washington plays at Seattle. The Redskins are on an emotional roll. The national media likes Washington too. I think the Skins will be a tough out, but I'm leaning towards Seattle. I like the Seahawks at home to win 21-17. Saturday night at 7pm. Jacksonville travels to Pittsburgh. The Steelers lost to the Jaguars at home in December and are looking forward to another shot at Jacksonville. I like the Jaguars running game. Fred Taylor will be the difference in this game. The defense will create turnovers and I'll take Jacksonville 28-14. Sunday at noon New York plays at Tampa Bay. The G-Men played well for 3 quarters in the season finale against the Patriots. That may have been their finest effort, but it won't be enough. Eli and the Giants will loose this one. I like Tampa Bay and Jeff Garcia to win 31-20. Sunday at 3:30 pm. Tennessee plays at San Diego. The Chargers need to win a playoff game in a hurry. The Titans will need a Music City Miracle in Southern California. It won't happen. I'll take the Chargers 27-13.

I m jus thinking it will be late by the time they get home and with those adult beverages they will have consumed You should be ready. In case that unexpected call should come from either or both of them.

It's not like I haven't done that before, Ray. It's just that in this case the game's on Saturday, not Sunday, so Red'll be on the air Sunday to tell some road stories about the game. I'll just make sure that I have the WJVL cot & hot plate combo up and running by game time on the 12th.
