The Sewers

The Sewers

It still might be early, but HELP!! The Brewers need it. My buddie Mezzie would refer to that baseball team in Milwaukee as the Sewers. That was a few years back when wins were rare for the Crew. Seems like old times again, as the Brewers continue to struggle on their current road trip. Yes I know it's a long season, but it's really going to be a long season if things don't turn around soon. Listening to Ned Yosts pregame show on WCLO, the skipper didn't seem too worried about his young team and the lack of pitching, hitting and winning. He says the whole team dislikes losing. No kidding Ned, who really likes losing anyway? Yost might be nervous about his job if these troubled times continue. There are some including me that think Yost isn't the right guy to manage this team. There might be a reason he spent all that time in Atlanta next to Bobby Cox, because he belongs there next to someone who can get the job done!

Outfielder Corey Hart commented on the pregame show that they know they are a good team. Yes, you have to be good to play in the big leagues and if the team is that good, prove it. Jim Powell says the fans are getting upset with the lack of production and according to him the players can't get caught up in what the fans are talking about. Well, it's the fans that buy tickets to the games, the fans that buy merchandise, the fans that pay 8 bucks for a beer and the fans that fuel the orginization. Give the fans some credit, were worried and rightly so.

The road trip started out good with 2 wins in Chigago. The weekend in Houston was lousy and so far Florida is no vacation destination for the Brewers. This team needs a win in a hurry. The pitching has been terrible and at the plate the Crew have fewer hits than Miley Cyrus. Calgon, take me away!
