Country singer-songwriter Daniel E. Johnson has released his debut single “American Hearts,” off of his new 6-track EP, All We Ever Knew, which is scheduled for release on August 31, 2018 and is now available for pre-order. The single is now available through iTunes and Google Play and will be distributed to radio and promoted by Marco Promotions, part of the AristoMedia Group. Johnson describes the song as, “an anthem-sounding, upbeat, rock-influenced track.” The Georgia-native also commented, “The songs I heard as a child that combine elements of Country, Rock, and Alternative music had a huge influence on this song.”

“American Hearts” was produced by industry veteran, John Palmieri (Cole Swindell, Big & Rich, Brett Eldredge), who Johnson described as “The perfect person to steer this musical ship.” The music on All We Ever Knew is a result of years of learning the musical ropes and developing skills as a performer and writer. “It’s what represents the kind of country music that I wanted my name attached to,” Johnson says proudly.  He added, “I really feel like these six songs paint the complete picture of the kind of music I want to make. We really sought out to come up with an original sound for this album that had just the right amount of edge, and tons of energy for live shows.  It all starts with good songs, and I think these songs are great.”

Johnson credits his move to Nashville as a major turning point in his development as an artist. “I had started writing songs while I was still living in Georgia and one of my co-writers said ‘Man, we should go up to Nashville and record some of these’.”  Shortly after, Johnson came to Nashville and stayed on a friend’s (Luke Combs) couch, and cut three songs in a week.

After immersing himself into the Nashville culture, Johnson decided to make the move to Music City permanently. When reflecting on his attraction to Nashville, Johnson said, “What I found is that the competition makes you so much better. I’ve seen my abilities and confidence as a performer and as a writer just skyrocket. I wish I would have moved here sooner.”

About Daniel E. Johnson: Growing up in Thomson, Georgia, Daniel E. Johnson was surrounded by music. Johnson’s first experience with music was playing drums in a punk-rock band as a teenager. He lived less than a mile away from the local radio station WTHO.  This is where Johnson would often visit and occasionally perform on the station’s airwaves.  While attending college at Georgia Southern, Johnson developed a love for Country music. “I loved a lot of the artists from Georgia, like Alan Jackson,” he recalls. “But, what really got me hooked was the artists that were emerging at the time, such as Eric Church, Dierks Bentley, and The Zac Brown Band,” Johnson said. From that point on, Johnson developed his skills by performing around town. This eventually led to recording his first projects in Atlanta. Since then, Johnson who describes his music as “modern Country with a Southern Rock edge,”has had the chance to open for acts such as Luke Combs, Lee Brice, Craig Morgan and Cole Swindell and is poised to release his brand new EP, All We Ever Knew on iTunes on August 31, 2018, and the debut single, “American Hearts” on August 10, 2018.
