The local positivity rate for COVID-19 testing is running well ahead of state averages. Rock County’s seven-day positivity rate is 27%, more than double the state’s 13% average. The Rock County Public Health Department reports the daily test positivity rate jumped to 44% Monday. Janesville and Beloit reported 668 new COVID-19 cases over the last week. The health department reported 189 new COVID-19 cases Monday and no additional deaths, bringing the countywide total to 4,923 cases and 42 deaths.
