Brown says of the song; “Same Boat is really about the human condition. You know we all go through the same things all together. It was another chance in that song to be able to remind people to be positive and to be good to each other. Maybe just reminding people that when they see somebody acting some way to put some thought into it and be a little bit empathetic because you don’t know what it’s like to be that person and to walk around in their shoes. And just the fact that it’s OK if two people disagree about something. We are all human-beings. We go through the same thing so just be good to each other. Spread some love around. That’s the thought behind it. I could tell when we started writing “Same Boat” that it was going to be a big song.”
