Formerly of the country duo Waterloo Revival and an established songwriter in the Nashville community, George Birge started a TikTok account after being encouraged to by Clay Walker during a songwriting session. Birge saw a viral video of a made-up song from influencer and music educator Erynn Chambers, who joked that men in country music only sing about “Beer beer, truck truck, girls in tight jeans.”
Birge turned it into a song and posted a clip of it to TikTok, with the promise of if it went viral, he would credit Erynn as a songwriter. It did just that.
Birge’s demo blew up on TikTok with nearly 3 million views and earned him 130k followers in just two weeks. Erynn is a co-writer on the song, which was produced by Ash Bowers.
Birge says “This was a song I never meant to finish, I started writing it as a tongue in cheek response to Erynn’s video and could have never imagined the support that listeners showed me. It’s been a wild ride and I can’t wait to show the world what we turned this song into.”
