The Milton United Methodist Women will hold their 30th annual Cookie Walk on Saturday, December 2nd, 2017. The sale will take place in the fellowship hall. The event will begin at 8:00AM and continue until all the cookies are gone. The church is located at 241 Northside Dr., Milton, WI behind Northside elementary school. The best part of this cookie walk is that you get to choose all your favorite cookies in the quantity that you desire without the mess of baking them at home.
Available for sale will be The United Methodist Women’s Cookbook (The Praise Cookbook), stocking stuffers and gently used Christmas decorations. Also available will be hand crafted items created by the Quilting Ministry.
All profits from the Cookie Walk will be used to support UMW mission projects. The carry out boxes for the cookies were donated by the Piggly Wiggly Store.
30 years ago, then UMW president, Esther Inwood saw the idea of a Cookie Walk in a newsletter from up north. People could select cookies they were interested in from trays spread out on tables. This necessitated walking around, hence the name “COOKIE WALK”.
We were the first church in our area to do a “Cookie Walk”. After a few years when people understood the concept, it caught on and other local churches started to hold their own Cookie Walks.
