Azura Memory Care invites the community to attend its 2-part, educational Dementia Series event at Beloit Life Center.
The first part of the series on Thursday, September 5 will welcome Former Governor of Wisconsin, Marty Schreiber, as he discusses his personal caregiving journey for his wife, Elaine, who has Alzheimer’s disease. He lovingly tells their story in the acclaimed My Two Elaines: Learning, Coping, and Surviving as an Alzheimer’s Caregiver. Schreiber’s book will be available for sale, $15 a piece, checks or cash preferred. All net proceeds benefit Alzheimer’s caregiver support programs.
Suzanne Bottum-Jones, MA, BSN, will be the speaker for the second part of the series on Thursday, September 12. Bottum-Jones is a Registered Nurse with over 15 years of experience working with the management of behaviors and psychological symptoms associated with dementia, brain injury, and other forms of cognitive impairment. She is a nationally recognized speaker, behavioral consultant, educator and advocate who works to encourage health professionals and care givers to include behavioral strategies designed to move beyond pharmacologic only interventions.
Admission is free and attendees can come to one or both presentations. An RSVP is required to Jennifer at 608-295-2764. For more information about the series or Azura Memory Care, contact Jennifer Bowman at 608-295-2764 or at Jennifer.Bowman@azuramemory.com.
