The Community is invited to join the 4-H Club at Lima Center Cemetery-located at the northeast corner of Highway 59 and Lima Center Road for a brief ceremony of remembrance to include the presentation of the flag\, Pledge of Allegiance\, National Anthem and reading of a poem followed by placing flags at Veteran’s graves in memory of their military service. Light refreshments will be available to participants. Upon completion the community is invited to join 4-H members as they remember the Veterans at Utters Corners Cemetery on W Townline Road (near the northwest corner of Rock County Line Road and W Townline Road).

DESCRIPTION:Press Release \nFinal arrangements have been made for Memorial Day activities to be held on Monday\, May 25th in Whitewater and hosted by American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5470. \nOn Saturday\, May 23d at 2:00 PM members of American Legion Post 173 will gather in the center of Hillside Cemetery to decorate the veteran’s graves at the Cemetery. Girls Scouts\, Boy Scouts\, 4-Hclubs and all other community members are invited to participate. Post 173 will provide the flags. \nAt 6:00 AM members of the American Legion and anyone who wants to help will gather at the American Legion\, 292 S. Wisconsin Street\, Whitewater to place American Flags along Main Street. \nThe parade will form at the Hearthstone Memory Care parking lot in Whitewater at 10:00 AM and will march off promptly at 10:30 AM concluding at the Whitewater Armory. Leading the parade will be a combined color guard of William Graham Post 173 American Legion and VFW Post 5470. \nThe Whitewater High School Band and the Whitewater Middle School Band will provide music for the parade. \nFeatured in the parade will be guest speaker Air Force Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) and Whitewater native Jonathan Roe. Also participating will be American Legion and VFW scholarship winners\, Badger Boys and Girls State attendees\, the American Legion Americanism award and the American Legion Outstanding Athlete award recipient. \nBoy Scouts\, Girl Scouts\, Whitewater Youth Soccer\, and other youth organizations are invited to participate. \nIn case of inclement weather the parade will be canceled but the program will be held at the Whitewater Armory beginning at 11:00 AM.

Children and adults may walk to the cemetery (2 blocks) to decorate veterans’ graves with flags and flowers and get a ride back. Cupcakes and ice cream follow the program. (The Apatosaurus is a genus of herbivorous sauropod dinosaur that lived in North America during the Late Jurassic period.) \nWe will be offering three sessions: \n• A 10-11 a.m. session\, recommended for children pre-k through kindergarten.\n• A 1-2 p.m. session\, recommended for children 1st grade and up. \nWe recognize that families may have children in both age groups\, so please feel free to attend just one of these sessions with all your children. Keep in mind that each session is tailored to that specific age group\, so the activities and information may vary in complexity based on the session you choose. \n• All ages are welcome back at 6:30 p.m. for a family movie night.
