While touring in the UK, Walker was reflecting while missing his wife Laney and their six kids. He created a list of things he loves about his wife and texted them to her one by one as a modern love letter. Later in a writing session, Walker took that list from the texts and wrote “Don’t Let Her” with Shane McAnally and Andrew DeRoberts. The song transformed into an upbeat and devastating conversation between Walker and the hypothetical man taking his place.
