JD Hardy grew up in a musical family in Bakersfield, CA, and was immersed in Country Music and Country Gospel from a young age. Today, he credits icons like Hank Williams Jr., Waylon Jennings, and hometown country music superstar, Merle Haggard – along with rock and blues – as his biggest influences.
Hardy’s signature sound captured the attention of former Curb Records president and VP for Motown Records, legendary producer Ray Ruff, who signed JD to a deal with Sony Nashville in 2005. Tragically, Ruff suffered a heart attack and passed suddenly just two months after starting work on Hardy’s album, leaving a huge void in the project and a major setback. After taking some time to deal with the loss, the resilient Hardy regrouped, refocused, and inked a new deal with Castle Records for his self-titled debut album. He released the singles Rebels With A Cause (2013), and Country Saves Me (2016) independently.
Known for his high-energy performances, huge stage presence, and one of a kind voice, Hardy has opened for acts like Mark Chesnutt, Trace Adkins, Easton Corbin, Swan Brothers, Randy Houser and Tyler Farr.
In addition to his music pursuits, JD is a firm believer in giving back to the community. He is proud to have raised more than $200K for organizations like the American Cancer Society, Relay For Life, Band Of Brother, Welcome Home Military Heroes, and Saint Jude.
