A Beloit man who was released from prison in July is back behind bars after being accused of raping a nine-year-old a child at the home where he was staying.
30-year-old Alexander Strege made his initial appearance before Rock County Court Commissioner Jack Hoag this week on a single charge of repeated sexual assault of the same child. Cash bond was set at $10,000 although Strege remains on an extended supervision hold from the Department of Corrections.
Assistant District Attorney David Olson told the court this week that the state has a very strong case, as the victim’s sibling walked in on the assault.
Strege is due back in Rock County Court for an adjourned initial appearance on November 12th.
