Cash bond is set at $500,000 for a 41-year-old Janesville man who is accused of shooting another man in the hallway of an apartment building on North High Street on December 17th.
Deonte Foster is charged in Rock County Court with attempted first-degree intentional homicide.
According to the criminal complaint, Foster shot a neighbor in the chest because he was upset that the victim had sent people to knock on his door. A witness told police that they had purchased crack from Foster in the past.
Officers executed a search warrant on an apartment in the same building where Foster was known to be living with his girlfriend, 35-year-old Cerissa Cleveland. Police spoke with Cleveland who lied about the fact that Foster was living with her, and claimed she hadn’t spoken with him in months.
Foster was arrested in Cleveland’s apartment on January 2nd. Cleveland faces a charge of harboring or aiding a felon.
