Janesville’s Rotary Botanical Gardens is inviting visitors to be part of its new Step Into Nature Walking Club.
Walkers can meet at the gardens between 9 and 10 a.m. or 5 and 6 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays through October.
Maps of different hikes with varying length, difficulty and scenery are available, including some that incorporate meditation. People can walk in small groups or solo, if they choose.
SSM Health is part of the initiative, too. The health system is covering admission for walkers on the first Friday of each month starting Friday, June 6.
The club and the “Free First Friday” admissions are designed to expand access to the gardens and to enhance the physical and mental well-being of visitors.
