Samuel Karns is principal of Todd Elementary School. He received a Principal Leadership Award from the Herb Kohl Education Foundation and was named the Elementary Principal of the Year by the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators.
The other finalists are Laurie Fiorenza and Kurt Schneider, who are both administrators for school districts in the Chicago suburbs.
The three finalists will tour Whitewater schools, meet staff and students, and participate in a public meet-and-greet on Thursday, May 22.
The public event will be from 3:45 to 5 p.m. in the Whitewater High School auditorium.
