GIFTS Men’s Shelter has a new executive director.
The Janesville shelter’s board of directors says Max Dodson will take over operations effective July 1.
Dodson previously led Caritas Inc. of Beloit for the past seven years, achieving financial stability and organizational growth by building an operating expense reserve and establishing an endowment fund. Before his career in nonprofits, Dodson served in the U.S. Navy.
Dodson takes over for MaryAnn Raash, who led GIFTS since 2021.
Founded in 2008, GIFTS Men’s Shelter provides emergency shelter, meals and support services to men experiencing homelessness in Rock County. It serves more than 150 men a year and offers housing, employment, recovery and life skills programming to clients.
