Plans are in the works for a new subdivision in Beloit. Beloit Communications Director Sarah Lock says the City Council approved a one-million-dollar housing incentive to help developer Next Generation build a whole new subdivision at Murphy Woods and Creek roads. The incentive will provide gap financing for infrastructure of the project, such as water and sewer mains, electric and natural gas lines, sidewalks, and roads. The council still needs to approve a fully executed development agreement with the developer. The agreement must be in place by January 1st, 2026 in order for Next Gen to remain eligible for the incentive funds. Lock says officials would like to begin construction this fall.
