A 31-year-old Beloit man who police say impregnated one of the teens he was supposed to be mentoring at Community Action eight years ago makes his initial appearance in Rock County Court.
Kevin D. Young Jr, is charged with sexual assault by a person who works or volunteers with children and child enticement.
According to the criminal complaint, Young met the victim when she was 14 and he was 23.
In an interview with Beloit Police the victim disclosed that Young began grooming her when she was 15-years-old and eventually pressured her into oral sex and intercourse. She told police that she was not sexually active prior to Young.
Young provided a DNA sample to police back in 2018 which was matched to the victim’s child by the State Crime Lab last month.
Young is the owner of Young Funeral Home and Crematory in Beloit.
In Rock County Court Tuesday morning, Court Commissioner Jack Hoag gave Young a signature bond and scheduled a preliminary hearing for September 30th.
