A 39-year-old Beloit man who according to his attorney works at a recovery center in Brodhead, is accused of violently attacking a woman by stomping on her head while drunk and high.

According to the criminal complaint, the attacks on May 3rd started when the victim took Chad Edl’s keys in an attempt to prevent him from driving after he had snorted cocaine and drank alcohol at several local taverns.

The victim told police Edl kicked her to the ground, and stomped on her neck and head, breaking her glasses. Later at Edl’s residence in Beloit, he is accused of punching her in the head multiple times.

According to the criminal complaint, the victim had to have glass removed from their eye in the emergency room after Edl’s assault broke their glasses.

Edl made his initial appearance this week where Rock County Court Commissioner Jack Hoag set cash bond at $3,000 on charges of substantial battery, aggravated battery, and second-degree recklessly endangering safety.
