May is Mental Health Month, and it’s been a year since Rock County launched its free CredibleMind mental health resource portal.

Shari Faber, a public health strategist with the county health department, says the county started CredibleMind in response to community health surveys that showed mental health care access was lacking locally.

The portal is a self-help library of videos, articles, podcasts and assessments meant to teach people about tending to their mental health and avoid or delay the need for professional help.

Faber says the county has seen an average of 500 monthly users since CredibleMind launched last year. The health department has put together a mental health bingo card this month to promote the site.

Residents can go online to RockCounty.CredibleMind.com to register, access resources, fill out their card and turn it in for a chance to win a prize.
