A wild incident at a town of Milton campground in May lands a 45-year-old Sun Prairie man in the Rock County Jail on a $1,500 cash bond.

At his initial appearance this week, Rock County Court Commissioner Jack Hoag noted that witnesses observed Mark Sullivan shove his girlfriend before burning her property in a fire pit, appearing to use lighter fluid to try to lead the flames to a camper.

According to the criminal complaint, Sullivan drove over an occupied tent, hit a parked car, and busted through a gate as he tore out of Lakeland Campground.

He’s charged with arson, first-degree recklessly endangering safety, disorderly conduct, and criminal damage to property.

Sullivan was arrested Friday after police were called to a home in Janesville where Sullivan was reportedly beating up the same victim.
