Local super volunteer honored to be honored at TDS/American Cancer Society night at the Jets

The Jets, the American Cancer Society, and TDS Telecom are supporting one of their own at a special Jets game on Friday, December 6. The media and public are invited to join in this special event, sponsored by TDS, that helps raise money for the American Cancer Society and will also honor area super volunteer Tammy Brown. Tammy’s list of volunteer work is extensive and includes donating her to various church and community activities, teaching Junior Achievement, being the Chief Election Inspector for Janesville, and the countless hours she spends advocating for cancer survivors like herself and raising money for the American Cancer Society—including at Jets home games. Tammy’s smiling face can usually be found volunteering behind the bar with her tips benefiting the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, but this week she’ll be on the ice. Tammy will be the ceremonial puck dropper at 7:05 p.m. The TDS/American Cancer Society night will also include special fundraisers, giveaways and prizes, and TDS will also be presenting a $1,500 check to the American Cancer Society.
