Sherry’s Road to Recovery Benefit

Sherry O’Grady was diagnosed in July 2024 with the axonal form of Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS): a rare autoimmune disorder in which the immune the immune system attacks the nerves, causing sudden muscle weakness, paralysis and severe loss of mobility. The axonal type is one of the rarest and most aggressive forms. Sherry went septic from an undetected infection, which triggered the syndrome, and was told she may never walk independently again. Over the past year, she has fought every day to regain strength, but the journey has been long and challenging. She lost her job due to the condition and continues to require daily care. Her husband, Tim, has become her full-time caregiver and supports her through appointments, physical therapy, meals, bathing and everyday needs.
As medical expenses continue to rise, we are seeking community support this holiday season. A benefit for Sherry will be held at Sneakers Sports Bar and Grill on December 28, 2025 from Noon-3pm.
