Janesville Jets, Beloit Snappers partner to open Rock County Sports Shop

The Beloit Snappers and the Janesville Jets team up to open a combined pro shop in downtown Janesville.

The Rock County Sports Shop recently opened at 119 North Main Street as part of the Bodacious Shops of Block 42.

Snappers General Manager Jeff Gray said it’s part of their effort to be a more regional baseball team, and they want to be more present in the Janesville community.

The storefront is open Wednesdays through Saturdays and sells memorabilia, merchandise and eventually tickets for both teams.

It also currently has a gallery of renderings of the new downtown Beloit riverfront stadium set to open in 2021.

When the COVID-19 situation allows for it, Gray would like to host team events in Janesville and utilize the Bodacious Shops outdoor patio space.

The Snappers are also seeking public input on potentially changing their name as they go through an ownership change to Quint Studer.
