Beloit Plan Commission to weigh in on downtown conditional-use requests

| By Big Radio News Staff |

More offices and more outdoor dining tables could be on the way to downtown Beloit.

City staff is recommending approval of a pair of downtown conditional-use permit requests during Wednesday’s Plan Commission meeting.

One would allow burger restaurant Lucy’s No. 7 at 430 E. Grand Ave. to add outdoor seating in the courtyard behind the restaurant.

The other would allow the incoming new owner of the former Regal Beloit building at 200 State St. to have offices in the building’s ground floor.

The Rockford-based Caldwell Group is planning to move its corporate headquarters into that building next door to city hall. The company builds equipment for the lifting industry at manufacturing facilities in Rockford.
