The Boys and Girls Club of Janesville hopes to break ground this spring on a new facility that will triple its capacity.

A $1.75 million grant from the State Building Commission will be a major boost for the project.

CEO Rebecca Veium says this puts total fundraising at $8 million of their $12 million goal.

In total, the State Building Commission awarded $5.55 million in non-state grant funding to construction projects at Rock County non-profits.

Family Services received a $2 million grant, The Children’s Museum of Rock County was awarded $600,000, and KANDU Industries was granted $1.2 million.
