A 25-year-old Janesville man accused of robbing the Kwik Trip on South Highway 51 in August and then immediately using the money to buy drugs takes a plead deal in Rock County Court.

According to online court records, last week Kodee Long plead guilty in Rock County Court to robbery. He was originally charged with armed robbery.

Judge Karl Hanson stayed Long’s sentence and ordered him to serve three years of probation. If his probation is revoked, he’ll go to prison for four years.

According to the criminal complaint, Janesville Police were dispatched to the gas station on the south side of Janesville just after 1:00 a.m. on August 15th.

An employee reported that the suspect implied he had a gun and demanded cash, claiming his daughter was sick.

Rock County Sheriff’s Deputies used a drone to conduct surveillance and observed the suspect enter a trailer at the Jacobs Mobile Home Park. Officers stopped a drug dealer that was seen leaving the trailer and identified Long as a suspect after reviewing the driver’s text messages.
