Rotary Botanical Gardens in Janesville is eyeing the possibility of a solar array on their roof in the future.

Director of Development Kelcie Baior says the non-profit garden’s commitment to renewable energy starts with a year-long partnership with Nautilus Solar Energy.

Baior says Nautilus will be on hand at some of the smaller events this summer like Twilight at the Gardens in order for visitors to get more information and ask questions.

Baior says renewable energy is more affordable and accessible then people may think.

Baior says Rotary Gardens also has plans for a solar array of their own on top of their main building. Right now they’re working on applying for a Wisconsin matching grant which would help cover the cost of the project.
