An Elkhorn woman is sentenced to 16 years in prison for her role in a 2024 crash that killed four people in the town of Lima.

On Tuesday, a judge sentenced 25-year-old Lexus Boedecker jn a “chain reaction” crash with two other vehicles. Police say she blew through a stop sign while driving a group home’s vehicle with cannabis in her system.

The crash killed four passengers and injured four others in a vehicle the group home says Boedecker was not authorized to drive.

A drug test showed that Boedecker, who was 23 weeks pregnant at the time, had THC in her system while operating the vehicle.

Boedecker pleaded guilty in February to four counts of vehicular homicide while under the influence of a controlled substance. She does not qualify for early release, and a judge has ordered four years of extended supervision on top of the prison sentence.
