A night for raising awareness of human trafficking — and rallying support for survivors.

A group of advocates called Beacon of Light have organized an educational night out called Break the Silence to be held Saturday, July 12, at the Loft at Wayward Winds on County A west of Janesville.

There will be live music, charcuterie and dessert tables, auctions and raffles, and a cash bar.

A brief presentation on human trafficking will be at 7 p.m., and attendees will be able to speak with representatives from local agencies that support people who have experienced the trauma of human trafficking.

Tickets cost $25, and money raised will be distributed to two nonprofits that provide safety and support to human trafficking survivors: Family Services of Southern Wisconsin and Project 16:49.

Tickets can be purchased here.
