Meet at 7101 Cleophas Road in Newark township west of Beloit. Watch for a sign on Cleophas Road; then drive south down a short dirt road and meet on the north edge of the woods. Androne Woods is a 16-acre parcel of woodland owned by the Green Rock Audubon Society. Because it was never used for grazing, along with GRAS habitat restoration efforts, this site still contains abundant displays of many different spring woodland wildflowers. Common species include false Solomon’s seal and wild geranium, but the woods also contain trilliums, orchids and ferns that are now considered rare species. This event is free and open to the public.
