Reports of someone jumping off a downtown Janesville bridge, and into the Rock River, appear to be a false alarm. Janesville Fire Department officials say authorities received “multiple reports” around 6:00 p.m. Monday of someone jumping off the Court Street bridge. Police, fire, and Rock County sheriff’s personnel patrolled the riverbanks, and had boats in the water, between Court Street and Racine Street. Officials say after reviewing downtown security video, it was determined no one had actually jumped in the water.
