Parker High School’s new arts academy is seeing success with its first class of students.
The program began this fall, offering students classes on the performing arts in addition to their core subjects.
Academy coordinator Jan Knudsen said she’s seen the students engaged and motivated in the specialized classes they’re passionate about.
The arts academy is putting on its first stage production this weekend with Clue On Stage, which was all extra-curricular and open for all Parker students to participate in.
Knudsen said students have rehearsed with masks and COVID protocols in place, and they’re just happy to be able to do a show after missing out last year due to the pandemic.
The shows run Thursday through Sunday at the Parker auditorium.
